The hotel gives off a motel vibe with thin walls and slow elevators, yet it offers a quiet experience and a nice view of downtown from the balcony. The parking structure is inconvenient, and the lack of AC in hallways is noticeable.
The hotel is comfortable and cute, offering a full breakfast selection; however, the rooms face towards the building and the air conditioner is quite noisy to leave on during sleep.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and not-so-good aspects. The rooms, although a little dated, were very spacious. However, they lacked automatic air conditioning, which was a bit inconvenient. The service was excellent, especially during check-in. The location was convenient for exploring nearby attractions, but it could be unsettling at night due to the homeless population. The dining experience was enjoyable and provided an opportunity to relax with a drink while taking in the city view. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with some room for improvement.
I stayed at the hotel and found the rooms to be very nice and clean. However, the walls are quite thin, and you can hear noises from neighboring rooms easily. The parking structure was challenging to navigate, so it's better to opt for public parking. The lack of AC in the hallways was noticeable, and the elevators were extremely slow, giving the impression of a motel rather than a hotel. On the bright side, there was a good selection of cable channels available.
Upon arrival, the room smelled like cigarettes, and I even found a cigarette butt behind one of the dressers, which was disappointing. However, the room was clean and extremely quiet with a nice view of downtown from the balcony. The size of the rooms was a bit small for my liking. The service was friendly and helpful; they even assisted us in getting discounted zoo tickets. The location, while not in the center of Downtown San Diego, was still good and conveniently located near freeway exits, making it easy to get around. The dining experience was adequate and included in the rate, though I wished there were more vegan/vegetarian options. Overall, the hotel offers a great value for money with its excellent cleanliness and convenient location.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms, despite being tastefully decorated with convenient amenities like USB ports, were unfortunately noisy at night due to families causing disturbances. On the bright side, the morning sunlight was a pleasant touch. The service, while polite and helpful overall, had a hiccup when the IHG membership was overlooked during check-in. The location was perfect for my itinerary, offering easy access to downtown attractions and being close to key areas like the Gas Lamp district and Little Italy. The dining experience was excellent, with a diverse menu and a shuttle service to the harbor, providing great value. Though the hotel had some positive aspects, such as its cleanliness and convenient location, the noise level and service oversight were aspects that dampened my stay.
